We have coaches at the club who would love to stack the team with locals, they are not working to underhand agenda keeping locals out of the team. There are quite simply no, (or very very few) local Championship class players around.

Think there is a few who could step up, but with no A Team, it's a big step up to the Champsionship, plus a lot of locals want mega money to sign on.

Havenwarrior, you are exactly correct, as I have stated before, the removal of 'A: team / academy structures was the single most destructive thing the RFL made happen for Championship clubs.

The RFL should have done just the opposite, (somehow), and that's sponsor these or one of these structures.

Without that, there is not a hope in hell that Championship teams, and haven in particular, can bring on and develop local youngsters who may develop into Championship players.

Not all would make it, and if only a couple a season got there then after 3 or 4 years there would be a significant number of local players being capable of stepping up and being part of a fully integrated team. (i.e. a team made up of a balance of local and imported players).

Having said all of that, I doubt that many of the Fax, Fev, Sheffield and Leigh teams are home grown, which is what we seem to be making a fuss of here.

Yesterday had absolutely nothing to do with DR and the lack of locals in the team.

It was however all about contracted players deciding to withhold their skills, commitment and effort on this occasion for some sort of self interested purposes, .....that resulted in a massive home defeat being contrived by a few malcontents.

Who'e to say one or more of those malcontents weren't locals........certainly in not so distant years gone by, we had certain local malcontents under performing for their own ends.

Although I totally disagree with DR, IMO it has been the savior of our club this season, without it we would have been in deep relegation trouble...no doubt about that.......there are no locals around able to fill the roles presently filled by the so called travelers and DR players.

Those who think the local teams are loaded with potential Championship standard players are deluded in the extreme IMO. And make no mistake about it, next year will be no different, DR may be abandoned by the RFL, but we will need almost a team of contracted 'travelers' simply because there are no locals of sufficient quality to step up to Championship level.

We have coaches at the club who would love to stack the team with locals, they are not working to underhand agenda keeping locals out of the team. There are quite simply no, (or very very few) local Championship class players around.

One final point, don't run away with the mis-placed ideas that we haven't used 'travelers in the past. Our best seasons in the past 10 to 12 years have seen our teams loaded with travelers, and only those who want to take a twisted view of life wouldn't accept that Leroy, Fats and Aaron weren't classed as travelers initially, add to them Smith, Duffy, Maden, Nnayn and a few others I can't bother recalling just now, and you will see our League winning team wasn't simply made up up of locals.
