when you look at our first 11 fixtures we have had a tough start,4 of our first 5 home games against the top 4 teams 2 fixtures against newly promoted teams both away from home, the rest against teams already established in this league, with our next 4
Fax H
town A
eagles H
batley A
it doesnt get any easier. However after these we have a run of 4 fixtures that could define our season
Donny H
swinton A
barrow H
hunslet H

these 4 are all very winable and if we do that would mean 21 points(thats if we got no points in next 4 games and that aint going to happen :D).But it does highlight how key wins away at cougars and barrow are, repeating the same at home puts daylight between us and them.
Town away is the most winbale of the next 4 but as they are home they will expect a victory.
This sunday fax will be very tough but if we are on top form we can do it

It's a tough league and with dual reg there really aren't many games you can earmark as a Defo win. The fixture list was fairly kind first 2 games but at some point you'll run into the big guns. Next 4 games are massive but at some point will come a run of easier fixtures

How the RFL can stand back and let this SL partnership fiasco continue beats me.

If they really have the future of Championship rugby at heart, they MUST be aware and alarmed that it is no longer a level playing field that certain team are forced to play others on, because team strengths are totally skewed week after week by the number of SL players deployed in certain teams.

What they have foisted the competition off with could, and quite easily might, signal the death knell for one or more Championship teams this year or possibly next.

Surely they cannot just stand back and let the present system continue without more, and more consistent regulation

At present  we have clubs fielding teams on certain weeks which are totally un-representative of their clubs true playing strength, the team being bolstered by five and even more SL players.

Results and league positions in any sport are supposed to represent a clubs performance, both in putting a team together and delivering on the field, NOT on who they can draft in to dramatically increase the strength of their team at a few days notice.

regarding the bonus point situation, do you feel happier if we get on in a match or feel the same.   Not that i can remember getting on  :D, for me it does make the defeat a little easier to take.

just been lookingat the league table and  at our remaining fixtures and to be honest its set up quite nicely

we are 6th in the league above
Dews,donny,york,barrow,town,swinton,cougars,hunslet

At home where we should be looking for wins against teams in the bottom 8 teams we have still to play all of them except york
and away where teams in the bottom 8 could look to make up ground on us  we have already played them all except york Donny and swinton .Yes we have tough away games to come against top 4/5 but most of the teams in bottom 8 will suffer defeats at them places so anything gained there is a bonus

It highlights how at home playing all the top 4 and away having already played most of the teams who will be around us, then we have done well to get to this point and be ahead of them all

all of this of course counts for nothing if we dont maintain the standard we set on Monday

well we got to batley away and are still well in the mix with those around us,worried next week is just a massive distraction from the important league. Then we move on to then next 4 league games which are massive for us 3 at home and swinton away which we should not fear.

Being saying for months 4 massive games coming up

Whitehaven have targeted a maximum 12 points from their next four games ahead of the visit to champions Sheffield Eagles.

Barry Richardson
The club have home games coming up against Doncaster, Barrow and Hunslet, three sides from the lower half of the Championship table, as well as a trip to Swinton.

And chief executive Barry Richardson reckons they hand Haven the chance to establish a strong mid-table base.

“We have a very important series of games coming up, starting against Doncaster on Sunday, which is massive for both clubs,” he said. “We need to be taking maximum points from these four games.

“We are more than capable of it, and we would then go to Sheffield with a bit of confidence, before we play Workington again.

“The cup game against them on Sunday was always going to be tight and it could have gone either way. We have an important couple of months coming up that could potentially shape our season.

“We beat York at home but our other four league games at home have been against top five sides.”

Meanwhile, rumours among fans at Sunday’s derby that Haven were set to announce a major redevelopment of the Recreation Ground are wide of the mark.

Officials remain tight-lipped, so as not to raise fans’ hopes, but it is understood an upgrade of the stadium that could include a revamp of the Kells End and Popular Side, turnstiles and floodlights, MAY be on the cards.

But the funding to secure the Recre development has not yet been guaranteed by Britain’s Energy Coast.

Haven have been involved in a £38,000 study in to what can be done to improve facilities at the RL club and neighbouring Whitehaven Amateurs FC.

I think the failure of the last initiative was due to the Council trying to take ownership of the project to curry favour with the voting public.

Woodburn and her bad of ignoramuses shouldn't be allowed within and access roads radius of the Rec.

Well lets hope that the £38K they are spending now can come up with a more sustainable plan than what they came up with spending £1.2m, so now we are on the FIFTH report/plan since 2005 - 8 years. Did it take as long to construct the Channel Tunnel?? The ring fence funding has been announced as "gone" in today's W.N. [along with TECSO no longer developing] another page laden with doom and gloom for the town.
