erm i'm not up for name calling but that post was nearly as bad as the champ person.  never heard of this bloke before the xmas derby  and thought he was awful. then again  most rl refs are all awful. kirkpatrick ring a bell

gareth hewer has been reffing NL1 and NL2 games for at least the last 2 seasons, he has previously been involved in reffing academy matches involving SL clubs

he was, i believe, the ref on Sky's 1st NL1 game between windows and lee!

so, to answer your question, YES he does have experience, he will only gain SL experience by reffing SL games!!!
if it bothers you that much, why not take the job up yourself?
the reverand, big mac

Just cause you don't understand what's going on don't mean it don't make no sense
And just cause you don't like it, don't mean it ain't no good

Watched  him  reffing  in  the  Widnes  Leigh  game  and  thought  he  done  very  well.  Kept  a  tight  hold  on  what  could  have  been  a  very  explosive  game.  Only  strange  decision  was  when  he  sinnbinned  a  Leigh  player  for  interference  even  though  the  ball  was  thrown  at  him  and  his  instinct  was  to  catch  it.  For  me  he  deserves  his  chance.
