well done HW,it's a very good gesture in what you are going through.I myself have been through a similar situation when I had a  kidney transplant, they had to do a bone marrow biopsy and boy did it hurt so my sympathy go's out to you my friend, someone will truly benefit from your goodwill.Take care marra.PS.hope mrs HW is keeping well.(Julie)............

Thanks for the kind words, but with modern technology, the donation process these days is a lot less painful, it's similarly to been on a dialysis machine for 5 hours till the take the stem cells out of your blood.

Mrs is fine, sitting here at my bedside.

HW is currently hooked up to the machines and the stem cell/bone marrow harvest is underway and so far going well     :tip:

It will take approximately 5/6 hours

Where is this taken place ? Good Luck Marra.

The MacMillan Cancer Centre, University College Hospital in London.

It's all over now and a successful harvest.
