There will never be a better time for our two West Cumbrian clubs to commit .................and approach the RFL with a request for help and financial support, .........on the basis that so many other areas which have been financed by the RFL have seen to be failing to deliver (LONDON, CRUSADERS, FROGS etc), yet here in West Cumbria we have proven die-hard supporters, all we need is the RFL's commitment to help us with initial finances and inter club amalgamation.  It's so obvious it's pathetic they haven't stepped in to make it happen in the past.

They did try it in the past on the back of theSKY Murdoch proposals a few years back, the fans didn't want it then don't think they want it now, where would the team play? The cost to build a stadium and supply funding for a team would be £10m RLHQ haven't got that kind of money even if they had the political desire to do so.

A merger would lead to a bigger club.  It would be sustainable with more fans, more money a new stadium etc.  Something like that would be welcome in SL, it could be a real force.
Rugby League would have to Unite the towns though, at the moment it just divides them.

Were would we play! I can't see ANY fan voting for the death of their club within their town full stop. If a Cumbrian SL were to be set up would not Penrith be the obvious choice?
