What's in it for them?  Well for starters it would keep them fit and help them work on their tactics during an otherwise empty week.
Surely it makes sense from both points of view, the Superleague clubs and Workington and Whitehaven.

It is only an idea, but just look at the crowds that turned up for the World cup matches, it proves there is an appetite for top quality rugby league in the county, and some of those people would come back again to watch Danny Brough etc playing for Huddersfield in a friendly match.

Friendlies are good for both teams involved, it just needs to be organised and the crowds would come flocking.

If that was the case why don't SL clubs sent out full sides for pre-season freindly's?

there was also good discounts on the WC tickets so wouldnt go by that, DualReg has lost a fare few fans also, the rfl should be helping clubs with the A teams which gives the Coaches more play to help with the team changes/ injuries and also helps players fight harder to get in the team

How the RFL can be serious about ever beating Australia with no A team system :(

the rugby league supporters that came out to watch the world cup games would want to watch good competitive games, that's something nether Haven or Town could give them, you would get a few extra on the gate but nothing like the world cup games.

Workington or Whitehaven could play one of the SL clubs that have already been knocked out, such as Hull KR, Huddersfield, London Broncos, Hull FC or Wakefield.

I'm sure they would rather play local teams, like Dewsbury, Halifax, Batley or York for the Yorkshire based teams, Broncos against the Scholars, what makes you think they would travel to Cumbria when they have these option's.
