Good morning.

I'm in search of a good pie recipe. The type of pies we get at the Club. Meat and veg filled. I tried one from a recipe I found on the internet but it just doesn't have that Mmmmmm goodness.

Do any Haven fans know of a source where I can find something that will give Richard and I a taste of what we used to have? Also, can they be frozen?

Well Shaun, you actually had me googling for wigan pie recipes. lol

What I'm looking for is what I think may be called a pastie (sp?)...that you can actually hold.

Wigan is quite famous for their pies though aren't they. It was interesting to read that bit of history.

The best meat and vegtable combination is the cornish pasty. Originally made as a meal in one for tin miners. some even had a sweet filling at one end savory at the other.

There is a lot of love for pies on here ladies and gents.  :D :D

My favourite is wilsons on the moor. Especially steak and kidney.

Mrs Razz would be hard pressed to get a pie delivered from the Moor, Cleater or Dearham. She said she wanted a meat and vegetable pie not a steak and kidney or a meat and tattie.

Went to watch The Brow today. they were excellent. The only W cumbrian team to win in the conference league.

Great win for the Brow at table topping Siddal, Egremont performed well in stages against West Hull, but come up short in the end. They could have taken 2 points to go level 12-12, but tried for the Try and lost possession. West Hull beat Brow early season, so not a bad performance from the Mont. Kells lost today, but still top their table.

I'll take all recipes if they are tasty Allez Haven.

cran.cran. was kind enough to send me some suggestions and I'm searching away. Wouldn't it be nice if I could just order up my pies from here...but its not to be.

And well done to the Brow.
