We've been losing services at WCH for some years now. Who runs our hospital imo have cut funds making it hard to recruit quality staff hence the reduced quality of care. It's little wonder the powers that be think Carlisle is the better option.

Jamie Reid could have done a bit more than he has. Why didn't he try and nip this in the bud much earlier. Maybe with an election next year he has to get his finger out in an attempt to win votes.

Sounds just like his predecessor, done nothing round here, only ever came when it was either a freebie at the mayor's charity ball or time for an election!

But the locals will still vote for Reid!

Hitler could walk around whitehaven with a red ribbon on and people would vote for him. Some are just stuck in their ways

Even he must surely have got the sense of feeling from last night's turnout, I thought it was just a meeting in the bar, even bought the evening paper - what a turnout - reminded of the Marchon strike meeting many years ago. Will he listen - yes! Can he do anything - sadly with this government it will be difficult - not making a political point just an observation. I was talking to nurse the other day and she said it's worse than what people think and she and all her colleagues fear not only for their jobs but for a great part of the hospital, and all the new build will never be used - now that is a scary thought.

its awful  which way its just been left to run down and down with the workers pushed way past there max patent care limits, it should never have got to this, even now with alot of services gone/going its putting the lives of people in the area at a very high risk and if it does shut , if anyone take bad its a lot less chance there going to be ok with the extra time it takes to get carlisle

Conservatives or Ukip could dress up as Scarlett O'hara but I still wouldn't vote for them.
