Bet gore is very good in this league. Cracking kicking game and decent defence too. Give him his chance and he'll be quality.

Gore played a few games for Town under DR, he was anything but quality.

Johnson is a good signing though and very welcome.

Widnes Vikings players Paul Johnson and Grant Gore are to join Whitehaven on a one-month loan.
Denis Betts commented: "I would like to thank Whitehaven for enabling us to further develop our players. Grant Gore and Paul Johnson will be part of the Whitehaven squad for the next month. It's a great opportunity for these lads to get game-time and also to enhance their fitness and be ready when we need them.
I would like to thank Whitehaven for taking our players on and hope that we can build a strong relationship with the club moving forward."

Dennis Betts on the loans

dual reg, loans etc. with no 2nd teams anywhere it's good to see dennis betts be grateful for haven now being the widnes 2nd team along with being saints 2nd team
scrap the loans, DR and all that rubbish - that would get more players into the open market rather than twiddling there thumbs waiting for a game or waiting to go out on loan

You get the same in football. Teams like Chelsea are effectively puppy farming. They scoop up all the promising youngsters, then loan them out and sell them at profit after they've impressed for their loan side. If they weren't allowed to do it, those players would thrive at lower clubs, earning them a good fee when sold on nearer their peak.

The problem in both sports, is the smaller clubs beg for scraps from the big boys table, whereas if they didn't the big boys couldn't hoover up all the talent. Short term thinking.
