The bottom line here is that we as a club, BOD, infrastructure, coaching set up and team, are far more structured, organised and better resourced than we were at ANY point last season.
We were so bad at all of these things leading up to the start of last season, and then there was only slow and steady progress at improvements as the season progressed.
So given that position, it was a credit to all involved that we managed to stay up, and may I say, no real surprise that we were a bit hit and miss, and that we lost all of those games to town as well.
The improvement in our position WRT all of the above things appears to have been massive, so great infact that I would suspect no other team in the Championship can claim to have made so much apparent progress. All be it from a very 'far back' starting position in our case.
If, (and I think it is), our progress is so good, we should be well capable of staying free of relegation worries all season, and in fact push for a comfortable playoff position.
Our progress must be a worry too, to all of those clubs who were able to take advantage of our struggles with organisation and team building etc last season, (Workington included, who seem not to have progressed much, if at all).
