Anyone know for sure how the playoff system works this season? Hows it going to work with short notice visa's for teams who have to travel to Toronto?

So if we finish second we would have 5 home games and 2 away then

RFL have stated Toronto are to play 4 games at home after 3 away games over here. (That is if they finish in the top 4) Likewise for any team finishing in the top 4. Depending what position you finish in the league dictates who you play home or away. Points accrued before the "8s" are carried forward and the league leader after the "8s" gains automatic promotion.Teams finishing 2nd to 5th will play each other in 2 semifinals, home advantage to the team finishing highest in the league.

Is that definitely right about Toronto? If they finish 1st after the 8 games in the play-offs they play 2nd in the league and the winner goes up. I thought that would be in Toronto plus they said on the radio the other week that barrow might have to go there another 2 times

The top team after the 8s gets automatic promotion

I think this thread shows the confusion around this years format. Maybe someone from the club could cast some ligjt in the matter.

Logistically how can clubs plan for a trip to Canada if they dont know if or when they will be going???

As stated in my post previously Toronto will play their away games first and then at home for their last 4 games

Also means a trip to toronto. Id imagine trying to get PNG boys and anyone whos got anything daft on their record visas will be a nightmare.

We need that home final though if just for the £££.

A trip to Toronto is unavoidable. If we can go into the final 7 games with a 3 point cushion to 3rd its a huge advantage especially if you discount any game v Toronto making it essentially a 12 point run in with home advantage v 3rd.

If we do the club need to get visas sorted quick. We can't afford a similar scenario like Barrow had.
