To be fair we had our chance with a new stadium  and drop the ball.  Biggest mistake Copeland has ever made.

At the end of the day Copeland haven't showed a lot interest in anything the club have put forward to them over the past few years, but are Copeland a good council compared to Allerdale, make your own mind up, I have.

Forgive me if im wrong but isnt Sellafield in the borough of Copeland?

Sellafield or NMP wouldnt fund or put their name anywhere near the Pow Beck project yet they've jumped into bed with Town and Allerdale council.

Something very fishy going on.

When you realise that their residential Photographer in chief  and ex board member ,is a key player in Sellafield's socio-economic  team ,and is as thick as thieves with  the head of that department our ex MP. Then it could be said nepotism is at play here with tax payers money

To think they want to  dump nuclear waste on our doorstep and they do this,. Whatever happened to our super fan ex MP hmm.

Over 90% of that Waste is already on site, all they want to do is store it more safely so it can be better managed. Is that such a bad thing?

Money was available at the time from British Energy Coast. Unfotunately those that could have made it happen decided otherwise.

Safe long term storage is the problem and our bed rock isn’t suitable apart from what’s under Ennerdale.

If it was such a safe thing how come councils up and down the country  aren’t  volunteering.

the same fella who probably wrote a load of cheques for haven when NMP where sponsor?
Just for accuracy NMP were a private company ,paid to run sellafield, how they spent that fee was entirely up to them ,like flying directors to the states to watch the master's etc!!!!!!!!! .
Sellafield Ltd is not  a private company but a government run company via the NDA .So not quite the same ,also a big difference between sponsorship  and investing public money ( if that's the case) into a sports facility.
If the extra 10 million for the project is indeed coming from SL ,then at a time when things on site are being cut back , no doubt questions will be asked about the rational, reasoning and influence around this decision.

NMP a private company that was tax payer funded. SL is still a private company as the employees are not class as civil servants. I'd be very shock if SL where stinking up £10m to be honest.

Many private companies are tax payer funded through being awarded contracts, carillon remember them, capita, G4S etc to name a few ,and like NMP what they all seem to do what they want with money earned from contracts .NMP went through a tender process and were awarded the contract to manage the site ,ahead of the likes of  bectel etc.
Sellafield Ltd is totally different,no tender process because it is a subsidiary of the NDA which is a government body So they have to account for how they spend the money , especially in the current climate .
