They don’t seem a bad side this season are Coventry. They’ve had a few good wins and good luck to them . Not a heartland rugby area but hopefully if they have a good season the sport will catch on in the area

Coventry were as hard as hell to beat at the Rec last year....good team, so lets hope we catch them on an off day.

Sorry town lost....but hey they win the league at the end of the season anyway so no worry's there is there ?

Workington Town Will play at Borough Park, the home they left more than 50 years ago, next month.

With pitch work being taken out at Derwent Park ahead of Workington Reds moving in for the new football season, Town will play at the home of the football club which is due to be replaced by the new community stadium to be built to host both clubs.

Town’s game against Coventry Bears will be played at Borough Park, where they played from formation in 1945 until 1956, on Sunday June 16.

A club statement said: “Derwent Park pitch improvements. Derwent Park is currently undergoing pitch improvement works that have been planned over the last year.

“These works are to upgrade the playing surface and to increase the available pitch size to accommodate up to FA requirements.

“This would allow the pitch to be used by football clubs including Workington Reds.

“This, of course, means that Derwent Park is currently unavailable.

“Town and Reds continue to work together and this means that Town are currently using Borough Park for training.”

Workington last played at the ground back in 1986, losing 56-12 to Wigan in the Challenge cup.

New plans would need drawn up, planning process to go through, contractor selection and then the demolition of BP and finally construction of new stadium.

I would say 2 years would be cutting it fine but doable. Would be up to the RLWC people to see if they’re willing to wait and see

The below option seems more realistic

gm66,Just sit back and have a smile. After all the crap they gave us and especially the board about mismanagemet at least we always had a ground to play on. With the money they have spent and the direction they are heading in I think they have more worries about mismanagement than us. Won't be long before they'll not have a ground but also no pot to pi55 in. :D :D

Good win for them today especially considering they only had 2 players on the bench. An ex Haven player apparently didn’t turn up. Wonder who that could be ???
