BEC is owned by the NDA and Copeland, Allerdale & Cumbria County Councils. From what I gather they are state sponsored property developers with the difference of building what is needed rather than what is going to make them as much profit as possible.
I believe the stadium that can be seen is simply an artists impression and not (current ) plans. Artist/architect perhaps got a little carried away when suggested some form of sporting facility could be incorporated.
Who knows, with enough persuasion, something may be worked out BUT with current fan numbers through the turnstiles nobody is going to want to build anything
