Congratulations to Whitehaven School U16s who are representing England in the inaugural European Rugby League Championship in Serbia.
They have made it to the final tonight, having defeated Serbia 46-0 and Russia 70-0.
They faced a tough France outfit ko 7.00pm our time.

well done lads,excellent performance young greg mcnally got man of match aswell,should give them a big cheer at match on sunday 
our players couldnt get in the town team you,ve gotta be kidding.theres plenty town players i hope dont wear the chocbluegold.

Just been on Radio Cumbria's sports show tonight, Whitehaven School are European Champions beating a French side 14-12.

Fantastic achievement.

a team for the town to be proud of!

i noticed in the RL express paper on monday they were being reffered to as ENGLAND, no reference to them actually being WHITEHAVEN SCHOOL pupils only!!!

which makes their achievment all the more incredible, where the other teams are selected from the best from the country!!

they should be given a MASSIVE welcome at the recre this sunday,

perhaps they can be paraded as an inspiration to our guys at blackpool!! what can be achieved with belief!

Couldn't help mesel... have just added a post on BBC 606 to show the wider RL community that there is an amazing pool of talent in Whitehaven (including my baby cousin who was in the team).  Well done lads, that's absolutely brilliant news! ;D
