Press release regarding the meeting on 7th June 2018

***********************************************************
Whitehaven RL can this evening announce that an letter of intent has been signed by Stuart Harvey and the current board of directors of Whitehaven RL.

Stuart Harvey is a businessman leading a consortium looking to invest in Whitehaven Rugby League and become part of a three year plan to lead the club into a strong position. Stuart and members of the current board spoke frank and honestly at tonight’s fans meeting at in the JJ McKeown Bar at the Recreation Ground.

As stated earlier in the week the club are looking to raise £60,000 to cover a budget shortfall which is crucial in developing the new consortiums three year plan. While this is not the full figure that is needed. Stuart and his consortium believe this is a figure that can show that the residents and businesses of Whitehaven want to keep Rugby League in the town.

Stuart and the rest of the consortium have helped in a few areas already including a new club website to be launched and go live in the next 2 weeks and a new kit deal which will supply the players with  new off-field training kit.

The raising of the £60,000 is still at the forefront of the clubs plans and can be done in a number of ways. Anyone wishing to donate should contact the club

Get a bucket collection up and running at the bradford game ad well.
The just giving page will help reach a wider audience so lets get this the air time it needs on social media, share it to death, tag ex players.
Seen that theres a bucket going to be in bubbles night spot over the weekend great gesture plus should get a few drunks throwing in some cash as well.
Really positive looking forward, lets hope we can get through this season and get the club what we need.

Can't believe the cup run cost us 40k lol, only in RL could that happen. Really feel for our current Bod. But they have still managed to pull a rabbit out the hat.

Great to see the fans chipping in but the club now need to get the local pubs and businesses on board £250 will get them a season ticket for rest of this year and next season so they could raffle each home game and winner gets that weeks ticket and put proceeds back to club...ongoing income until end of 2019 just a thought imagine if 50 establishments took this up.....exciting times ahead but lets show the cosortium what it means to the town....thought Mark Stamper done a good job on the mike tonight  :tip:

Nope, Gary eilbeck said it was a huge reason we're in the mess we are. But it could turn out to be the biggest blessing to happen to the club.
