If I am correct and the Cap is ?400k, it is a puzzle how Cas are putting their current squad together.

Shenton
Guttenbeil
Mgoldrick
Lupton
Donlan
Saxton
Higgins
Dixon
Henderson
Pryce


Were all SL(11) players or equivalent last year.  Add in James king and Mark Leafa plus expected signings of Wayne Mcdonald and Danny Brough.

They must have some blokes playing for the price of a "ham sandwich".  On one level that squad of players looks pretty unstopable in this league and if assembled within the rules fair play to them.. I look forward to watching them next year.  I do hope the RL are keeping a close eye on everyones budgets though through the course of the season.

What  the  RFL  should  is  at  the  start  of  the  season  they  should  say  just  what  each  clubs  salary  cap  is.  Surely  though  it  would  be  fairer  to  all  teams  if  it  was  equal.

Giving  Cas  and  Widnes  a  bigger  salary  cap  is  creating  unfair  competition  and  shouldn't  be  allowed.
