Whitehaven RL are thrilled to announce the signing of the club’s youngest ever player Jake Bradley on a three year deal. Jake who has turned down a super league move to sign for his hometown club became our youngest ever player making a try scoring debut aged 16 and 330 days on trial versus Hemel Stags back in March.

Jake made his debut on the wing but has been playing in the pack while on tour with the England Lions squad in August.

Speaking after signing Bradley said “I’m happy to be in a squad full of local talent and excited for the up coming season. Incan't wait to get stuck into preseason and i’m glad to be back down at the Recre.”

Head coach Gary Charlton “In Jake we think we have one of the best up and coming rugby players from around this area. He has all the attributes to become a top player and it’s great to see he has picked haven over a few bigger clubs that he had the chance to go and play at. Jake is young in years but has the physical attributes of a man with plenty of strength and power. It's good to see that these young players wanting to come and play at their local club and I am sure Jake has a bright future ahead of him.”

The club would like to give a massive thank you to the Vice Presidents for the help in securing Jake’s signature. That as well as all other aspects in which they help the club is much appreciated.

Quality, play anywhere but would like to see him at prop where he’s recently played for England.

if and when he signs how long before our friend up the road knock him as not good enough and only chasing money, no doubt we will be spending money we don't have and going bust again. As far a Jake great signing this young lad could go far in the game and we should be grateful that he has decided to start his career of at haven and not travelled down the M6 /M62 like many others

Can't knock Newts on his efforts last year, went great for Town and he'll do the same at Haven, don't think any Town fans are knocking him, most just disappointed he won't be with us next year, a disappointment that won't last long
