Whitehaven RL are delighted to announce the loan signing of Barrow Raiders half-back Jake Carter on an initial month’s loan from the Betfred Championship club.

Carter who signed a three year deal before the start of this season has made two appearances so far for the Raiders this season but with limited game time at Craven Park he will spend the next month at the Recreation Ground.

Head coach Gary Charlton had been seeking the capture of the youngster and is happy to see him join with his squad for the next month saying “He is highly thought of at barrow and has impressed Cresta when he has played. Jake has had limited game time this season as there is some good halves that he is up against but he possesses a great kicking game and knows how to take a team round the field. We are really pleased to have him on board and he will add plenty of competition to our squad for the forthcoming matches.

Jake goes straight into contention for this Friday’s Easter derby versus Workington Town.

In Charlo we trust,  adds a lot of much needed flexibility to the squad.

Sounds a very confident lad from his interview on Facebook.  If his kicking is as good as he thinks it is, then that will be a big improvement for the team.
