Couldn't get to this evenings meeting...…...where is the money coming from ?

Out with the begging bowl last season...….now 'supposedly' loads of it. How come.

Thr money is hopefully comping from various sources who already contribute to the community to a sum of ten million a year.  The the community hub is exactly that, for the community.  The profits from that would fund the rest of the ground.  The a team is hopefully going to be funded by a 100 businesses pay 400 each,  but for that two get two tickets for every home game and a prize of some sort.  If we go up that would be cheaper than two season tickets and not much more if we don't.  And dowsett and wilkinson have signed two year extentions which for me is the best news of the night.

these plans have been progressing for 4 year's now and were started before our financial problems last year.there is no money in place at the moment to carry out the plans, the object of the meeting tonight was to make the plans public and hopefully engage backers and possible financial support.
we are also hoping to run an A team next season at a cost of £40.000 and the bod are looking for sponsers for this and are hoping to get 100 business's to put up £400 each.this is separate from the ground development.

Good ideas and it’s great the club are moving in the right direction but after the Pow Beck debacle I’m not very optimistic about this. We’ve been let down before with big plans and ideas and sadly nothing has happened..

Pity you weren’t there but no begging bowl. What the project is asking for is for us all to promote this idea to supplement the work behind the scenes. If the businesses see that there is positive support then they will invest with whatever funding is already secured.
It was mentioned that  businesses  could invest to be part of what really is unique not only in Copeland but in Cumbria. The RL side benefits if the Hub becomes a reality.
The reserve side plans announced will require financial support either by bigger crowds or supporter involvement.  This is a different story to the Pow Beck fiasco.
Share the news far and wide.

I’m glad that we’re looking to upgrade the stadium, it’s nice to not lumber the tax payers with a 50 or 100 year deal as what town are looking to do.

Saying nobody will sign is far from the truth, yes we had a couple of knock backs pre season from some in the amateur game but only one of these was from the age group we are targeting.

Local young players are now interested and while we may not get everyone we target, there has been a massive shift towards the club over the past 6 months   ;D
