Whitehaven RLFC are delighted to announce that Carl Forster has re-joined the club on a deal until the end of the season. The club have beaten several other clubs in securing Carl’s signature and he re-joins the club to bolster the forward pack as the club looks to cement its place at the top of Betfred League 1.

Haven head coach Gary Charlton is “pleased to have him on board, he will bring size and experience to the team and he’s just the sort of player we have been looking for to complement our other front rowers. Carl is well thought of up here and will fit in without any problems”.

This signing has been made possible due to the support from the Whitehaven RL Vice Presidents and the club cannot thank the VP’s group enough for its continued efforts in assisting the club achieve its long-term goals. A VP’s spokesperson said “The Vice Presidents are delighted to be able to help bring Carl Forster back to the Recreation Ground. We are there to help the club recruit players and this is a great example of what we do. We have helped with the signings of other players this season, but it is good to be able to assist during the season when a player like Fozzy becomes available. Thanks to our 66 members who have helped make this possible.” The VP’s are always looking to recruit new members to assist the club and in doing so members do receive some great benefits from the club. Call Des Bryne on 07986663866 for more details on this.

Carl was and remains a firm fans favourite at the Recreation Ground and had this to say on re-joining "I'm really looking forward to pulling the Haven shirt on again and getting back in front of the fans at the Recre. I just wanna get back to enjoying my rugby and hopefully help the team achieve promotion."

If you want more signings like this come join us the VP’s, see message from Des below about our next fund raising night .

Dear haven fan

Our next VP evening will be Friday the 24th May 2019 in the J.J. McKeown bar. Our guest will be former Haven player Ade Adebisi, who is now the Vice Chairman and General Manager of the Nigeria RL. We hope to have another guest as well.

Ade has been in the press quite a lot lately due to his involvement in setting up the sport in Nigeria. He is also a rare example of a professional sports person that has made it despite suffering from sickle cell disease.

In addition to this there will be some exciting news released on the night!

Tickets will be priced at £10 and include food. Please let me know if you would like a ticket.

Last year the Vice Presidents sponsored a game and we are looking to do so again this season. We have chosen the game against West Wales on 1st September 2019. Cost is only £40 each and the more we can get in the better and, of course, it helps the club. If you haven’t experienced a Matchday Experience this would be a good time to try it, it is an excellent afternoon. You receive admission, programme, two course meal, five drink tickets and sandwiches post game. In addition you get a match preview from the Coach. Witness the after match speeches and Man of the Match Presentation. All in all it is a great afternoon.

Let me know if you are interested.

Regards

Des

Absolute monster of a signing he's the missing part of the puzzle and a natural leader surley now promotion should be in sight what a squad but we need to tie him down longer than the end of the season hopefully we get something in place for him but I'm.over the moon. With this news well done

Foz is back as a player, so won't be involved in picking who plays and doesn't.
At the end of the day it's rugby... if they're still "upset" they need to grow a pair and get behind the promotion battle!
Foz will turn up and work his blood to water the way he always has for this club.
