Noting that Oldham have this week announced a dual reg deal with Wakefield, and that even Leigh, Bradford and York have all entered into similar agreements with SL clubs - Is DR a necessity to survive in the middle tier?

Couple of loan players would be far better

If we were to do dual reg it needs to be with a top SL club who have a big squad to limit the chances of lads being recalled.
Wasn't it Widnes last time? They were a side battling down the bottom of SL with a small squad which meant we never knew who we were going to have on a weekly basis.
Look at when we are DR with Saints, some of them lads who played for us are now SL regulars compared with the Widnes lads who are Championship quality.

But anyway, if we were going to be DR this should have been sorted months ago.

Even if we did go DR there would still be folk complaining about "locals not getting a chance because of DR". Can't win!

It all costs, and I’m guessing we can’t afford it.

Bringing in the odd player or 2 now and again at the expense of lads who’ve trained all week doesn’t work and causes problems  behind the scenes . Better  get a couple of loan signings for the season
