I posted this on the Vice Presidents Social Media earlier today. Please help us to help OUR club

GAME DAY

Alas not as we know it today. The gates are locked and the terraces will remain empty.

The global pandemic that is sweeping the country has, quite rightly, meant that the rugby league season has been suspended. It is an anxious and dangerous time for many people in the country.
It is also a worrying time for businesses large and small as to the economic effect of this virus. Even with Government help some companies may go out of business.

Rugby League is not a rich sport and many clubs may struggle to carry on without additional support. We could see the Rugby League landscape change with clubs from Super League to League One struggling to carry on. The lack of income and cash flow will be serious. OUR club is no different and we need to help in any way we can.

We invite you today to donate the cost of your admission ticket to the game this afternoon to the Vice Presidents. Not only for this game but for any others that are suspended. This is to help us to help OUR club going forward. We appreciate it is a time of uncertainty and some people may struggle financially but others won't. You do not have to pay £17/£13 if that is too much but, please, just donate. Every little will helps.

You can donate by bank transfer or by cheque made payable to Whitehaven RL Vice Presidents. Cash may be a little more difficult to collect at this time. If you wish to donate by bank transfer the bank details are:

Sort Code: 16-52-21
Account Number: 52976788
Account Name: Whitehaven RL Vice Presidents

Other ways you can help are:

Join the Vice Presidents
Join the Pride of Five Club Lottery
Buy merchandise.

The lottery and merchandise can be done on-line at www.whitehavenrl.co.uk

If you want any more details please message the page or ring Des Byrne on 07986663866.
Lets make sure those gates re-open when we come out of this and OUR club gets through this along with YOU.

In the meantime stay safe everyone, let's look out for each other and follow the advice of Public Health England which can be found at

I don’t mind donating to save our club but you would think the players  would be happy to receive no payments until this is all over . Many of them have other jobs

It’s not intended to pay wages.
