n last week’s gossip column, we revealed that Whitehaven’s flying winger Lachlan Walmsley had signed a three-year deal with a “top” Super League club from 2022. This week, we understand that the Australian, who qualifies to play for Scotland, is set to link up with Wigan next year

Pity we couldn’t have signed him on a 2yr deal that way if he did go we would get some compensation

These guys are only ever gonna sign 1 year contracts, we have been very lucky, Lachlan has been outstanding. We could have got a donkey on a 2 yr contract and be stuck with him.

wigan fans on there forum seem to think hes signed 3 year deal, good luck marra if true shame we only had him on 1 year or tied down earlier in the season.

No a mean if he goes Wigan he will probably loaned out to one of our competitors 🙈

Personally I think he needs another season with us . At Wigan he’ll be a bit part player so might not get too many opportunities.

If it's a 3 year contract they might give him to us for a season on loan with a bit of luck

Can see Lachlan going for the carrot in front of him I just hope he rethinks and stays of course with us he’s the best player in our team and all those try’s he’s got this year he’s won games on his own for us
