Whitehaven Rugby League are delighted to confirm a one year contract extension for Connor Holliday who will enter his ninth season at the LEL Arena having initially joined the club ahead of the 2015 season.

The back rower has made 143 appearances in Chocolate, Blue & Gold starting 90 of them scoring 251 points scoring 32 tries, 61 goals and 1 drop goal.

Holliday made 17 appearances last term scoring 7 tries and 7 goals but struggled with a calf injury towards the end of the campaign.

Head coach Jonty Gorley spoke of Holliday’s retention saying “Connor is one of Whitehavens' longest serving players and we forget it he is only still 27, so really speaking he is entering in his prime as a rugby player. I'm going to challenge Connor with nailing down a regular starting position in my team this year, because he's definitely good enough and talented enough to do this. Connor is one of our most potent attacking threats he's a great line runner he's a big lad who can hit and spin out of a tackle, he's got an offload and he knows where the try line is. So it's good to get Connor back with us for another season for another hometown player.”

Once again the club would like to thank the fantastic work of the Vice Presidents to continue our work in building our squad for the 2023 seasons.
