We're in a relegation battle and Dave played really well at Widnes and will already have known he's moving on, so let's not question his commitment. We had the bare 17 on Sunday and whereas our frustration is understandable, stopping anyone from playing only hurts us.....there's always been annual player swaps between the 3 clubs and every year the social norms are getting stretched.... Never more than this year

It says a lot a bout Daves ambition that he wants to step down a level.  He'd be better of at the Brow standard is the same as League 1 and he won't have tk travel to Cornwal Midlands etc.

Tbh he's OK and done a job this year but we are probably the only championship team he would get a game due to literally us having no backs this year.

We do some how though need to begin planning for 2024 or we will be left high and dry on player recruitment.

Some harsh comments here about Dave.  Made the decision to sign for town when it looked like the end of the road for us.  Isn't a big earner on site like many of our squad and needs to provide for his family.   His loyalty for playing while not being paid is how he should be remembered.

Personally I think players shouldn’t sign for other clubs until the end of the season . Clarke is going from Warrington to Wigan . They should wait till the season is over then switch clubs . Infact there should be a rule in place .

As for Dave good luck to the lad . If we stay up and Town stay in league 1 he’ll be playing a lower standard of rugby and if he fancies a trip to Wales Cornwall and the midlands then good luck to him

I don't blame him for signing for whoever he likes next year but there's a lack of class shown all round by Town for announcing a player under contract with another team for the rest of season and from Dave for allowing himself to be dressed in another teams kit while still playing for us.

Exactly. Wait till season ends then announce your move. How on earth can Dave allow himself to be photographed with Towns gear on while still playing for us. Do the lads not realise our massive rivalry. People will be annoyed by this so best to do it when your contract ends.  I’ve nowt against the lad wanting security and to play for his old coach but I hope he does his best to keep us up which I believe he will.  If he doesn’t then fans will be on his case even more with this announcement.

It's the norm for clubs to announce signings for the next season...... Clarke from Warrington to Saints as an example. Clubs are often forced to announce due to rumours and unrest. Dave will have signed several weeks ago yet Sunday was arguably his best game this season, proving he is fully committed to the cause.

Whenever we've signed anyone from Town we've always had to decency to wait until town have announced that player is leaving them
