Ike Game 2024 - Postponed

Whitehaven Rugby League alongside Workington Town Rugby League Football Club can confirm the postponement of tomorrow’s scheduled Ike Southward Memorial fixture at The Fibrus Community Stadium.

With amber weather warnings around the country with Storm Isha battering the UK ground safety officers at Workington alongside conversations with both clubs have made the difficult decision with player and public safety an absolute priority.

We understand this decision will come of a disappointment to both sets of fans but we look forward to our next meeting on Sunday 18th February at The Fibrus Community Stadium in the final group fixture in the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup.

Further communication regarding fans who have bought early bird tickets will be announced by Workington in due course.

Hopefully rearranged for a future date when we are both out of the challenge cup and not just played for in the 1895 cup game as with the current state of the game a game on a dry field would generate a decent crowd as a great former player like Ike deserves.
