keith, not being a regular viewer of NL2 rugby, can you explain the format for your playoffs, ours are simple, but how does NL2 work with 1st gaining automatic promotion?

does the 2nd bottom team from NL1 still get involved somewhere down the line?

cheers,

big mac

No problem at all Big fella.

The top club gets automatic promotion

Game 1 4th versus 7th
Game 2 5th versus 6th

Game 3 2nd versus 3rd (Winner direct to Grand Final)
Game 4 Winner of Game 1 versus Winner of Game 2 (Highest placed at home)

Game 5 Loser of Game 3 at home to Winner of Game 4

The two bottom teams in NL1 come down.

wasnt sure if was same as ours or different to include 2nd bottom of NL1

didin't realise bottom 2 went straight down this year, in the past hasn't 2nd bottom of NL1 been involved in NL2 playoffs?

It changed after the 2005 Grand Finals when Cas beat Haven (sorry) and Batley beat Dewsbury.    Batley were next to bottom in NL1 at the time but it changed last season and the bottom two now come down from NL1.     Dewsbury got automatic promotion last year and Sheffield won the play-offs by beating Swinton in the GF.
