Is it true  what did he say ?  Personally I am unsure whether its a good move or not.

Getting rid of DR is predicated by replacing him with some one better.  (a) Thats far from guranteed on our budget  (b) will take time to get a new coach in.

There is a lot to be said for continuity.  I would not be surprised to see DR & GH go to Workington.

Oh christ let the speculation / rumours begin as to the likley replacement  I'll start the list

Karl harrison
Andy gregory
Gary schofield
Peter Walsh
Daryl Powell
Neil Kelly
Gary Chambers
Tony benson
Shane Mcanlly
Darren Abrahams

It must be one of those ten!

gregory.........hic hic, would get on too well with our lot!
schofield........ no experience at this level and players would struggle to understand his mumbling
walsh..........would be a good un but has just signed a new deal in aus i think, has already said he aint coming over here
powell........ a possibilty
kelly............a guy i admire and have time for
chambers.......not another assistant, sorry garry
benson........ done nowt at leigh
mcnally.........jurys out on him
abrams....... good coach but worries too much about what other teams are doing

Have we come into some money?

You wouln't get henry Paul or Robbie Paul to move up here for less than 60 -70 K

I suspect the Bod still ahve to go throught the advetising stage yet, and then see who interested and then interview them, and then think about by which time it will be Christmas.

He one BIG problem with all this is that it means the BOD are chosing which player to sign for next year, not the coach (whoever he may be).  Now with all due respect tothe BOD they have no more experience of picking a RL team than you and I...its far from ideal.  The alternaive is the wait for the coach to be chosen by which time the cupboard is almost empty.

unless the board already have somebody they would prefer to become coach, and upon approaching him he agrees to become it, that would save some time and money advertising for a coach

unlikely, i know, but it could happen.

as for the paul brothers i think your being a bit over the top there, especially as robbie doesnt have a club for next season, and has a lot of outside interests financially,

i think he could be gettable at a reasonable price, and as i have said elsewhere he would be worth the risk of a few more quid as he would put more bums on seats, and be able to attract a better class of leftovers and he would be a class act in this league!

i dont personally know the guy, so i couldnt say for sure!

however to be a player coach i dont believe you need the same qualifications as a coach, and besides which he has played at the highest level for a number of years, that would be qualification enough in most peoples eyes, and as a player also he would have the experience and talent we sadly lack at vital times in a game

From what was said last night in the interview, it was made clear that it wasn't a sacking, just that his contract is not being renewed, and that they are advertising in the RL press for a new coach. Doesn't sound like they have anyone in mind to replace him.

Does anyone know if the match is going to repeated at any point? Am getting Sky installed today!!!  ::)

After yesterdays latest GAF from our BOD about letting the coach know that he isn't getting a new contract until after the end of the play-off's i am wondering whether we are a club in turmoil ?

I just can't wait for this season to end
