hardly going o make any difference .  I have been very unimpressed apart from one fortunate moment when he got confused spun round and was bale to slip a ball out he has done abosoloutly nothing to convince me he is a NL1 player, quite the opposite in fact.

Signing on is one thing, producing a NL1 standard of play is another, doing it week after week is yet another.

Best of luck to him, but he will have to get his finger out and raise his standard.

Thats right lets come on here and slag off a young kid finding his feet in the game and shatter his confidence before he has the chance to gain any.
How very supportive of you the negativity on here at the moment is shocking.
Surely if we can get some good local youngsters in around the team then that frees up money to offer better deals to more experienced players  to give the youngsters guidance

Yeah you may be right probably a bit harsh to write him off just yet.  i just think everyone is getting very nervous withthe BOD spouting at every opportunity we will be relying on local talent ...which is clealry not good enough to make us a competitive team in this league.

have some sympathy with us we lsot at least six very experience / talented players at this level and replaced them with now one at this stage so you will forgive us for not getting over exited about he signing of a bloke who looked less than ordinary lat year....oh and thought he was the dogs Knuts.

Why cant we rely on local lads ?
We have laods looking to step up some may make grade some won't

But where did Rudd, Calvert.Matty, McAvoy (and his brother) Miller,Jacko  etc all come from?...the amatuer game
We may sign more in next year or two and also the Scholarship should start coming through, Chris Smith, Fox, McNally etc etc
Like i say some may make it some may not
Bamber may make it or may not,who knows ?

Give the lads a chance, Get the negativity and pressure of their backs and lets see what they can do

An excellent post we are going nowhere the next few seasons guaranteed so why not experiment with a few locals (not a team full just a few)

The point is that the amatures that make go straight into the first team...beacsue they ahve the talent not one of Calvert Rudd jako or Mcavoy spent any time in the academy.  Same withthe young blokes going well at Cas.  The only time players come through the accadamey is at top Sl clubs where they are training full time and trying to reach SL level.  If they aint good enough for NL1 at 18 -19 they never will be .

and of course Wes Wilson,Stephen Hanley and Mark cox were never any good either were they?

and the debate wasnt about the academy..It was about local talent

What you want do write off the whole Scolarship and U21 side because in your eyes it aint working ?

totaly disagree with that when ford played this year he was better than ricky wright flaper and baldwin but rotheram chose the latter for some reason. This year hopefully fordy will kick on and get regular first team place/ craig macavoy never got given a chance in the firsteam so dose that mean his no good havin seen him play he is every bit as good as rob jackson. and lebbon who who always plays well
