another one of these kids who believe they are good enough to pit there wits against players like moran, brough and co but has never even played in a competative game like kells vrs ellenborough or even national conference rugby.  Ruddy, matty ,calvert , derry, even flapper all played conference finals. Who would you rather have one these guys in the team or a unproven amateur, and before anyone says hes young and can improve Carl, matty, derry  and calvert were all 20 years 0ld when the won the national cup and the national conference title.

To many of our academy boys think they are better than they are, there lucky to be given the chance even to play academy rugby,  only a hand full played cumberland amateur rugby league. Ford, benson, hodgson are proven time for the rest to prove themselves.

personaly i would of let shackly/d.smith/bamber/pobs/elsey/fox/johnstone/ go back to their amature clubs and get some first team rugby then sighn them back up for the acadamy season and hopefully toughen them up alittle bit and come back as better players

why isnt esley playing next year??

ive watched acadamy all season home and most of the away and dan smith has been great. he makes so many cover tackles that somehow get through the middle of our defence. been better than craig macca on the whole this season. scored a few too. ran in 4 against swinton in a game

Ashley gone to uni in Lancaster but will probably travel back with dan smith who has been there for the past year and has travelled back every week for training and matches.
