he hasnt signed yet. he has held talks with all 3 cumbria teams since moving back to live up here in september but it is more than likely he will sign this week as havens offer is the better than the other 2.and he is 29 so how is that the wrong side of 30

Went to the Cumbria match in Barrow yesterday. McDonald was by far the best Prop yesterday. Really explosive, aggresive taking the ball up.

I would welcome McDonald to the Recre, much better than Teare, Baldwin & Wright.

I hope this is just a rumour. This player messed us about a couple of seasons ago and then decided to stay where he was after initially signing. He is injury prone and his discipline isn't the best! Bad discipline cost us dear last season and we don't need has beens like Macdonald .

A different point of view!

It may not be a rumour. Yes he did sign a couple of years ago and then changed his mind due to changes in his working hours at work. We could have had a player who wasn't making training and didn't have his heart in playing as he was unhappy, but he was honest and made the decision with the clubs support. He may have been injury prone but last year he played over 20 games for York and some for the academy team. Also his discipline wasn't that bad. He is only 29 and last year he was classed as having a good year by those at York and other clubs in NL2.

I'm not bothered either way, however if he does come and is a liability then he should play academy. Not like Baldwin last year who played 1st team regardless of what he did on the field.

I think its good news the lad seems really  keen
and anytime Ive seen him play he has been in
contention for the man of the match.
He may have some enemies from last time he signed
but he was straight forward and honest about his
reasons and did what was best for him and the club.
welcome aboard marra  ;D ;D
