They seem to have retained Smith , Gaskell, Penny, Noone, Beswick, Tompkins from last year. and  are rumoured to have got Gannon.

Thats the makings of a team that could go well in this league.  No doubt they willtie up a few promising loan signings fromthe Lancashire SL clubs anfd probably have a half decent team.  I could see PROP being a problem though for them.  You need five Props in this league and they certainly don't grow on trees.

I think the top three will be beyond them but suspect theyll pull enough quality together to be fighting for 4/5/6 with us and Leigh

makes our signings look shabby

as for 9 points its a joke, the gap between 2nd and 3rd was more than
that last season so they could still finish 2nd

they have been allowed to sign players (on good contracts no doubt)
that they could not afford to pay last year, they may have a new
backer, but their crowds dont get any where near break even so could we
see a repeat at the end of next season if mr o connor decides to take
his ball home if they dont get a SL franchise

stinks to be honest, you get no reward for running the club properly

Difference is our new owner is a Widnes person born and bred. Last year a certain Mr Vaughan was allegedly only wanting to own the ground and possibly get Chester Fc which he owns to play there. He treate dus so shabbily and resigne don the eve of the seasonlast year. the other ex directors put many thousands of pound sof own money in to keep us going for the season. Not like Doncaster who folded mid season.

By the way on our official site but not yet on teletext we have signed Tim Hartley half back. Word is negotiations ongoing with Gannon Oldham, Joseph Halifax and Hill from Wigan.  Nanyn has said he is not returning as signe dfor Oldham. we will miss him , very very under rated.
