why would we want to play melbourne there would be two scenarios 1.They send their 2nd grade team it could be a decent game but people would be complaining about them not sending their best team 2. They send their best possible team, we get a hammering and dont really find out how good we are because there will be no players or teams anywhere near that quality in this league

They would only be their first team. It is to get the team used to the change in climate.
You are really a superfan amongst super fans in fact your the no.1 fan in Cumbria. Congratulations.

I am in two minds it is certainly a once in a life time opportunity t say as a club you are playing the current NRL champions (and it will be their first grade team).

Brisbane didn't exactly hammer Celtic.  Partly becasue they won't be going full out because the World club challenge is the week after partly becasue its their first game for four months.  i think Celtic even scored a couple of trys.

It would aslo generate a big gate i would say 4000 plus as well as excellent sponsorship opportunities.  Could also make some good contacts for reserve grade players to come over.

Down side is you could pick up injuries but that applies to any game really.

certainly far more positives to it than not.  Good look to halifax it should be a huge night for them.
