With the team training well at the Copeland stadium should we maybe play the lesser teams at the copeland stadium in the NRC and maybe the early stages of the challenge cup to save the pitch at the Rec ?

It might show theml that we would be willing to play in a council owned stadium

No, definately not.

Will loose the atmosphere, and I hate the grounds where the players are somewhere in the distance, past a running track.

Plus, we'd probably have to pay to use the facilities and pay to get a ground H&S licence, as well as complete loads of Red Tape for Risk Assessments etc.

In summary NO

Absolutely NOT!!

It is not our ground and is not good enough. The Recre is not in a good state but it is better than the Copeland Stadium.

As  mentioned  your  too  far  off  the  pitch  to  see  the  action  but  its  the  title  of  the  thread  thats  interesting  especially  the  words  "smaller  NRC  games"

Despite  our  dominance  in  Derby  games  playing  Town  always  has  that  special  feel  about  it  especially  when  you  go  into  work  on  a  monday  morning  and  are  surrounded  by  glum  Town  fans.  The  bragging  rights  make  it  all  worth  going  in  for.  Fax  is  also  a  big  game.  There  a  good  NL1  side  who  could  be  serious  darkhorses  this  season.  We  played  them  5  times  last  season  with  every  game  being  a  belter  and  it  should    give  PC  some  idea  on  just  how  good  we  are  when  the  real  season  starts.  Keighley  struggled  last  season   and  could  be  1  of  the  "smaller  games"  but  there  an  unknown  quantity  and  if  they've  recruited  well  could  pose  a  problem  but  I  can't  see  it.

But its NOT A COUNCIL OWNED STADIUM. The stadium is owned by a trust, who have been very successful in getting large grants to improve the facilities and stadium after it was left to drown by BNFL and the council.

PS, we may not be up there much longer alas, if we dont stop upsetting the landlords
