Can't  wait  even  though  its  only  a  freindly.  RL  withdraw  symptoms  are  definatly  setting  in.

Lets  hope  both  sides  put  out  full  strength  teams  and  don't  make  dozen's  of  substitutions.

Finally  this  is  a  chance  for  both  sets  of  fans  to  get  behind  their  sides.  Anyone  who  follows  our  teams  will  make  it  to  the  game.  If  we  can't  get  a  gate  of  3000  then  its  very  sad  news  for  our  2  sides

Not sure about this one though it must be close but amazingly, up to about 10 years ago, the sides had actually won more matches at each others away grounds than at their respective home grounds i.e. Haven had beaten Town more times at DP/BP than at the Rec and likewise Town!

Without climbing into the loft to get the rest of the details the position up to 1996 was :-

Out of 65 matches played (all league, except 1 Challenge Cup match) Town had won 38 and Haven had won 24 with 3 drawn.

Up to 1986 the score was 35 - 12 to Town but from 1986 to 1996 the score was 12 - 3 to Haven.

At Derwent Park Town have won 19 games to Haven's 13 and 1 drawn, but the score between 86 and 96 is 7 - 1 to Haven.

At the Recreation Ground Town have won 19 to Haven's 11 and 2 draws but again between 86 and 96 the score is 5 - 2 to Haven.

Up to 1996 there had been 17 seasons when the two teams didn't meet except Tow Towns Cup / Four Towns Cup etc.

Since 1996 I would think most matches have been in the Trains Cup (under various names) and if you want the details updated you will have to wait until I climb in the loft to check.   :)

That is true but as I say there would be very few league matches in that period and most of the games would be in the Arriva Trains/Northern Rail/ Tin Pot Cup or whatever else it has been called but since 1986 Haven have definitely had the upperhand on Town.

That's great.   I don't have to climb into the loft.  Cheers.

:o thats a very good point! I was reading this thread before and noticed how yours and Keith's posts provided some good stats. Certainly nothing wrong with the post at all!

Looks like I'm going to have to dig around the back of the forum to see whats going on :(

(Please post it again if you don't mind as it was very informative!)
