1 of the problems is we have quite a few over 30. Certainly several coming to the end of their careers. Reading some of the post's it all appears doom and gloom. Barrow certainly have a money bags chairman and that could mean some Haven lads deciding to make the awfull journey down south of the county. Add to that Possibly Rob Jackson going and maybe McNally as well it doesn't seem to good at the mo.

Mind you look at last season. Trindall went along with maden and Smith. Then Duffy and Fletcher also left but we got by.

PS........read somewhere Leeds were after Ormishere. Surley this can't be right :o

next seasons squad for me needs to be the right mix of experince and youth, the youngsters like fordy , mcnally, smith bamber, barker etc etc have shown given a chance they are up to it , next season i would expect the likes of amor, lancaster, pobs and one or 2 others to start to get first team action also.
you need a first team squad of about 25/30 to see you through the season, id go for

Players to release, or who will leave,or who will retire

flapper
eilbeck
sice
rob jackson
tane
fats??
gorski

current Players on contract or to sign up for next year

Players to sign

Chris young  (prop/2nd row)
dan russell(so/sh)
jason mossop  (center)
Another Prop(SL season long loan, up coming player ) To live here
another center/2nd row to live here

thats 27 players  which should be enough with a startin line up of

joey
calvert
scott maca
mossop or another center
ade

unless si is coming off the quota  :o

As i said last week Saia is NOT a quota player, thats why we can talk to Rawlins and show interest in the Thunder no 7.
If he were he would be signed up for another year now.

Well I think we defo need a halfback. If Jackson leaves possibly a pacey centre although Patrick has done OK. If Fats retires which is likely and depending on what happenes to Fordy's injury I think we also need a big strong running prop. Quite happy with Benson at fullback if Gary goes but I can't see him giving up on a benefit season to go to Barrow.
