GB & Barrow star Lewthwaite dies

Lewthwaite (3rd from left, 2nd row) in Barrow's 1955 cup final team
Former Great Britain and Barrow player Jimmy Lewthwaite, one of the last three survivors of the 1946 "Indomitables" tour, has died at the age of 86.
The winger scored 25 tries on that tour of Australasia, named after the warship on which they sailed, HMS Indomitable, but did not play in the Test team.

In a 14-year career with Barrow from 1943 to 1957, he scored 351 tries and 20 goals.

The last game of his career was the 1957 Challenge Cup final against Leeds.
