new points system doesnt work!

proof, if indeed it were ever needed that the new points system is unfair, and quite simply doesn't work....

our group table currently stands as this

1 whitehaven W2 D1 L0 Bonus0  pts 8
2 barrow       W1 D1 L1 Bonus1 pts 6
3 town         W2 D0 L1 bonus0 pts 6
4 blackpool   W0 D0 L3 bonus2  pts 2

without these ridiculous points the table would be more accurate, with town and barrow swapping places..

1 haven  W2 D1 L0 pts 5
2 town   W2 D0 L1 pts 4
3 barrow W1 D1 L1 pts 3
4 pool    W0 D0 L3 pts 0

how can a team be placed higher than another, having both LOST the same number of games but the lower placed team has won more? that cant be right can it? 

using the W-L % from American sports would also correct this giving haven a 0.833% win, town a 0.667% win and barrow a 0.500% win

3 games into the "get fit for summer cup" and i think its time to drop the new points system.........

because its unfair, and quite simply doesn't work.

totally agree pal and thats saying something cos it would benefit town!  ;D

don't know why people in high positions change the rules.just look at football and offsides.....offside in the 1st phase but not the 2nd phase...eh?

rugby league is spot on as it is just leave it alone!

if the exact same pattern is continued for the final 3 games of the group matches,
haven would finish top with 16 pts from 4 wins and 2 draws,
barrow would be second with 12 from 2 wins 2 draws 2 defeats and 2 bonus points,
town would be third with 12 from 4 wins and 2 defeats

again, this cant be right? this is rewarding a team for only managing to win HALF the amount of games of the team who they have finished above due to these new points

the heirarchy at red hall must be really thick if they cant see that this is totally unfair, and does nothing to improve the game

i agree because even though i dont lyk workington thats not fair on them as who ever qualifies from the group should qualify fair and square by winning games

They  should  have  done  what  they  do in  RU  and  give  out  bonus  points  for  tries  scored.  That  way  it  would  encourage  more  attacking  play.
