It is in todays league express the rfl want 12 to 14 teams in the championship and 10 to 12 teams in championship 1 but to be in the championship you must have a 5000 capacity stadium with 500 seats and floodlights the tv deal with sky is up at the end of this year and if they get a new deal the championship teams will get more money than chamionship 1 teams also if teams merge they will get more money for 2 seasons

The capacity for the Championship is 3,000 with 500 seats and 300 lux standard floodlights for TV matches.    Oldham would fail on capacity and seat numbers and Havens new stadium is only planned for 390 seats so there will need to be a rethink there.    Championship 1 club only requirement is for 200 seats and floodlights of 200 lux standard.

Championship clubs would receive twice as much as Championship 1 clubs but the Ch 1 clubs will have all their travel expenses paid by the RFL as they are looking to introduce new clubs like Bramley, Coventry and Hemel Hempstead.

Bottom club in Championship will be relegated and the top club in Ch 1 promoted, if they meet the criteria.   The second bottom in Championship will then play in the Ch 1 play-offs as the lowest placed team.   However, there is a proposal that even if a team finishes in a play-off place they will not take part in the play-offs if they cannot meet the criteria for the Championship.

no theres gonna be 390 but weve got 500 now meaning we,d be alright for 2012 and it wouldn,t take much to put an extra 110 seats in new stadium

cant see the point in down sizing to 390 when it makes more money to sit  and needing more in the  higher league its just making something more to pay for down the line. lets hope this news makes them see sense when building the stadium

not sure it's just so simple to put in an extra 110 seats, unless plans have yet to be finalised, lets hope the council, RFL and the club are all singing off the same hymn sheet. Does anyone know what the term about "geographical differences" actually means?

and no mention of scholarship .reserves or youth development
new staduims with x amount of seats and x type of floodlights will not keep our game alive

players will
THE MULLET IS BACK

I think it means not just teams from M62 area meaning us and town should have a good chance of getting in it but then again they,d maybe want us to merge

There's also double money available for "mergers" and RFL pay travel costs
