Has anyone heard about Barrow Whitehaven & Town being in talks together with the rfl about running a joint Cumbria u16s & 17s teams next season to play against super league clubs ? i spoke to a couple of lads who are involved at Egremont and the Brow today and they both said they hadn't heard anything but they also said that there is virtually no communication between the local amateur clubs and the pro clubs.

They need to because none of us have scholerships, so the bigger teams can take players on at the age of 14/15.

barra were supposed to make players available for the 9's. but none were available.
so why not have west cumbria u23's.
aren't barra more north lancahire boys?

this year i think haven are thinking the same as town, you have to get out of this league and for 12 months the 25k plus it cost to run your own reserve team is better spent on first team players

But we also know how it affected Barrow in regards to injuries. With no reserves to pull from they struggled to have fully fit players and ended up fielding those who hadn't recovered fully. This was the start of their decline.
Winners MAKE it happen, losers LET it happen!

I think a second team is a good way of getting competition for places.I think haven and town should get a joint second team as its important for match fitness and things
