RUGBY league fans in Cumbria can have their photos taken with the
sport's most famous trophy ahead of Whitehaven and Workington Town's
fourth round ties this weekend.
The Carnegie Challenge Cup will tour RL's West Cumbrian heartland on
Thursday, starting at Netherhall College in Maryport at 1.30pm,
before stopping off at Whitehaven School, 90 minutes later.
It will move on to Hensingham ARL club at 4.15pm, Kells at 5pm, Wath
Brow (5.45pm) and Egremont at 6.30pm.
The day will end at Haven's Recreation Ground at 8pm, when fans will
be invited to pose with the trophy. A question and answer session
with the Haven squad will follow.
Two free tickets for Haven's fourth round clash at home to Halifax
will be up for grabs at each of the Copeland venues, in a free draw,
courtesy of Carnegie.
Haven's development officer Alan Davidson said: "This is a great
opportunity for all supporters and players to have their photo taken
with the cup.
"Carnegie are the new cup sponsors and are trying to promote the
game. They were keen to get in to Cumbria."
Town travel to Super League Leeds Rhinos on Friday night and Haven
entertain Fax on Sunday.
