Proud to be a Cumbrian and a Rugby League fan tonight

was great to watch cumbria win the 9s and was chuffed for don, charlo and carl sice to be named mom. my only worry being what next all the muppets on sky and other pundits will be saying get a cumbria team in super league.

That's already been proven as unsustainable for a single club. It ruined town getting into superleague and it ruined haven failing to get into superleague so anyone wanting arepeat of that must be mac.

Neither Barrow, Haven or Town have the money, infrastructure, facilities, supporter base or drive to ever reach SL.

The only leverage we would have would be to form a merged team to continue to produce  and improve the amount of potentially elite level talent in the local area which is mostly wasted.

To ever even contemplate this we would need a massive leg up from the RFL - even witha merged team!

Aye best all 3 can hope for is to be competitve at the top end of the championship although im not in favour of it a merger between town and haven would have huge potential youve just gotta look at the 9,s to see that

1, where would they play
2 who would coach this team
3 would haven fans watch at barrow or town would town fans watch at haven or barrow would barrow fans watch at town or haven 
maybe haven have had there chance and wont ever get to super league but leave us as haven town and barrow

Agree with that 100% I think SL status is achieveable only at a club level without massive outside funding, and given the level of losses that most SL clubs must be creating I can see only the nuclear industry having that ammount of cash but politically I do not think they would be able to carry it through, it needs a club to radically overhaul its operations and move to a dreaded medium to long term plan.
