Whitehaven RLFC are very pleased to have joined up with Seallafield LTD, North lakes Food bank and the CN group too gatehr some much needed items for Summer food packs for local children. Our bin will be located in the Marquee at Tomorrows game v London Broncos. Please donate generously.

Sellafield Ltd and Cumbria Newspaper (CN) group are urging the public to donate 17 tonnes of food - £28,000 worth - to the North Lakes Foodbank in order to stop over 600 disadvantaged children in Allerdale and Copeland starving this summer.

During the summer holidays there is extra financial pressure on families who rely on free school dinners to feed their children. With support from Sellafield Ltd and CN Group, the North Lakes Foodbank will provide over 280 local families with special lunchpacks to feed their children during the holidays.

The ‘Holiday Lunchpacks 4 Kids’ scheme will provide one food parcel per week, to provide five days lunch for up to three children. This equates to 15 meals per week and 105 meals over the entire seven week holiday.

The North Lakes Foodbank will be accepting cash and food donations to support the scheme.

The following food items can be donated:

•           Tinned corned beef or ham

•           Tinned fish

•           Tinned macaroni cheese

•           Tinned spaghetti hoops

•           Tinned ravioli

•           Tinned peas

•           Tinned carrots

•           Tinned sweetcorn

•           Instant mash potato packets

•           Cereal bar boxes 6 bars
