I don't know if it's just how things are nowadays but I find it hard to agree with this instant sucess philosophy of the current generation. What's wrong with supporting your home town club who struggle from one hardship to the next? Sport by nature cannot be full of sucessful teams. We are a small town club who had a purple patch a decade ago, to be honest we punched above our weight for a few seasons and riding that wave was great. Why do people expect (or some demand) that we should be up there constantly. Before the season started I thought that if we stay up it will be an achievement, lets be realistic, we have little infrastructure and even less money than a lot of other teams that we are trying to compete with. I've even stopped posting on the predictions threads as if we were playing Souths some people would expect us to win and come up with some outrageous theories as to why we would. It's time to be honest with ourselves and carry on supporting through 'thick and thin'. Can't remember how many times in the past I've left the ground saying I'm never going back to watch that *****, but somehow always end up going back, we've had plenty of worse squads than the current one so people should be grateful for what we do have and support them for what we really are, a small town team.
