Gates of 6000 ??? not in recent years and certainly not at the time Kyle was playing - maybe one knock to the head too many, time for a rest and a bit or catch upon local reading.

that was a few years before kyle was playing

Biggest crowd I can remember down there was the Kells vs Leeds game in the 80's where they hillariously gave the crowd as being 6,000 but it must have been nearer to double that. Absolutely packed.

Must of been jam packed to get over 18000 fans in. I wish we could get 2000 these days. I was at the cas game it was tremendous.

Why do we need to merge to get decent gates?  The reason why we have such poor gates is because we have been very poor for the last 10 years or so.  If we are playing well and at the top of the league next season then we will get 1600 to 1700 every game.

I was the same Brianb. Stood at the railway end cos all those hardy haven supporters crowded us out of the popular side. Where were they for the Hunslet and widnes games? :witch:
Allez haven

Been supporting Haven since Gus Risman stood on my new mac. My ma gave me hell!

I was there that day Kells End

We got a penalty in the first minute half way line J Mc slotted over, then we were 11-2 down and our remarkable fullback clawed the score back to 11-10 with some of the best kicking at goal that i have ever seen
Those days will never come back but what memories

I was also at that match. Some estimated that there were 20,000 at the match because lots of people were climbing over the fences. I always stood near the halfway line on the popular side for the matches but on that day even though I got to the ground at 1.30pm, I finished up between the 20 metre line ( 25yard line in those days ) and the try line at the railway end.
John McKeown gave one of the best kicking performances ever seen on a rugby field that day. He kicked 5 very difficult kicks ranging from the touch line to the halfway line that day. Unbelievable and unforgettable memories.

You are right, the Wakefield fans were so impressed they said if JJ had played from them the would win every game.
