Whitehaven RL can announce we will travel to Kingston Park on Sunday 14th March to take on Newcastle Thunder in a low-key friendly fixture. The friendly will see the first run out for our first team in just over one year following the suspension and eventual cancellation of the 2020 campaign due to Covid-19.
The opportunity to take on the newly promoted Thunder will allow Gary Charlton and his coaching staff to give much needed game time to his 2021 squad following 12 months with no match practice and lack of contact before the following Saturday's first competitive fixture of the 2021 Season in the Betfred Challenge Cup as we welcome Dewsbury Rams to the Recreation Ground.
The fixture will not be streamed via any social media channels or OurLeague.
