Whitehaven Rugby League can today announce our 2025 leadership team with roles for three experienced members of the 2025 squad.
Jordan Burns has been named team captain on his return to the Ortus Rec having made 109 appearances in his first spell scoring 52 tries and 37 goals which ended lifting the League 1 trophy at the end of the 2019 season.
Connor Holliday has been named as vice captain by Anthony Murray. The experienced back rower has been at the club for over a decade and will be looking forward to the 2025 campaign having seen his 2024 season end prematurely due to injury.
Club captain will be James Newton as he continues his recovery, following surgery on a neck injury sustained in the final game of the 2024 campaign. He remains involved off the field, joining Anthony Murray’s back room staff ahead of this season. His leadership will be invaluable to the 2025 squad.
