Is there no way someone cannot  talk Aaron Lestor back down to have some involvement with the club..a true motivator, and leader of men...if we had  him in the changing rooms at half time kicking arse  in some of the games,we would have won a lot more matches than we did

Can someone create a voting facility (not sure how to?) and then hope that Lester reads it and sees how many of us would love to see his involvement down at the recre.

Not sure why anyone would want to vote 'no' for this one - unless there is stuff that I've never heard about. I suppose one thing is that Seedsy will need to be his own man and not have a Haven great as a potential rival to contend with.

I would have to say that Aaron Lester retired at the right time in that he couldn't do it physically anymore. But if you think about it the club has been pretty much in continual decline ever since - obviously a big miss for the club.

What miffs me is Aaron seems to have cut all ties with the club. I've never seen him down for any games. He even had the chance of a return a season or 2 back but declined. Even now he could still do a good job in Champioship 1 but unless a big offer was made I don't think anything will tempt him back.

Have to agree, Lester, for whatever reason hasnt shown any interest in club since he left so why should we bend over and plead for him to return? the lad may have genuine reasons and family commitments and i dont think he would come back...just for the record i think he was best hooker ive seen at club since i started watching in the 70's...as a coach im on the fence  ::)

That might give you a little in-sight to why Aaron Lester "hasnt shown any interest in the club since he left".

Yeah, I read the Whitehaven News article and found it interesting and enjoyable. But it is only Aaron Lesters side of the story.

There was also the issue of his poor performances at the time. I'm sure many other fans remember him having a bit of shocker (against?) and when we was put through for a try knocking-on over the line. Seemed to sum-up the way thinhs were going and though the mind plays tricks I think this was his last game for the club?

Saying that, I would definitely have him back at the club in a coaching capacity in a heart-beat.

after all the outstanding performances from him, i'm sure even aaron would be allowed a knock on now and then!!

Definitely, and it wasn't meant as a criticism. But I think that maybe Aaaron was quite embarassed by it at the time, that is all I am saying.

Its a very good read. Infact its part of the Whitehaven News I enjoy the most.

Just a pity he ended his years with the club on a downer. Its getting a common thing players not getting paid.

As for him dropping the ball over the line didn't we lose out on the handicap coupon. I can remember someone on here complaining it had done them out of a few quid.

Weren't me, but yeah it was a game we won quite easily in the end. Those were the days....
