Having just read the Twitter page - It shows how easy and simple it is to set one up.

Maybe it would be a good idea for Whitehaven RLFC to set one up to let the supporters whats going on with some regular updates.

There is no charge, not much effort involved and its there for anyone to see (without signing up for an account).

The Internet and things like Twitter is something the club have never ever grasped. Loads of ideas have been thrown their way, but none ever come into fruition. The club had a website well run, but even the were unable to Update it, or pass on the info for it to be updated.

What they need is someone youngster who is keen, on Web Design and the Internet to be given a chance. A Season Ticket thrown his/her way might be enough recompense.

Very True,

The Website has been poor for a long time and i think this has to be addressed (along with the dozens of other things).

Im sure there would be someone willing to help out who has a passion in Web Design (once up and running it will take care of itself - just regular updates and the adding of results/league table).

Problem is the club aren't/weren't forward thinking. I ran the official site from 2005 - start of 2010 without any recompense from the club for the time and effort put in. However I have since contacted an individual connected with the club to push things forward in a professional manner and I'm awaiting a response.

Flannerz,

I appreciate your time and effort pal as will many others.

Shame you didn't receive the support and acknowdledgment you needed and deserved.

Lets hope this season brings improvement on the field aswell as off it.

Nice to see Whitehaven RLFC upto date with technology.

I hope theres a link with the club/liase on a regular basis - As it seems that BBC Cumbria Sport Twitter breaks alot of news from the club.

Yeah, don't be too quick to judge HW. The benefits of the internet might seem obvious to younger people but I bet Ralph Calvin wouldn't know how to switch a computer on. That's not meant as an insult by the way. The lads who are good at this stuff, and it looks like you are Flanners, need to be requesting a meeting with the board to explain the advantages that could be achieved. Develop your ideas into a sort of business plan and present them to the board with a couple of members of the the Trust steering committee for a bit of moral support. The advantages as I see them easily outweigh the disadvantages.

Why are there two Whitehaven ones? Above, The first one is the older one - but with a new update (the new witehaven 2010 board are now in discussions with playes for the 2011 season. off field staff have been made redundant). There spelling is worse than mine!

and.. The second one which is meant to be the new one aint been updated for a few days.

Seems abit of a confussion here but unsure why theres two set up.

Also - Who are the off field staff that have been made redundant?
